I have never heard that, but it certainly could explain the pump problems that seem to be common in this model. I guess most folks would run on one tank until empty then switch. I think you are correct about the Maxxair being cover only. It is fairly new looking. The fan and lid under it appear to be original 1991 model. I was able to replace the switch and get it running. Hi, I just acquired a 1991 with 460 in pretty good shape (I think). A little less than 70K miles. All the camper stuff seems to work ok. Everything had a good bit of storage dust so I am still cleaning up. Runs great on front tank, not so on rear tank. I do not know enough about it to ask questions ...
