Re: Generator Replacement
I just replaced my generator with the new 2800 Onan. Exhaust, cooling air outlet, oil drain are all relocated. Different footprint from old generator. I had to cut into the inside wall under the generator compartment, have a sheet metal duct built to route cooling air outside. Had to cut another hol...

generator motor to give away
My 95 generator rotor went out and the unit is obsolete. The motor runs very good and I will give it away. I'm in central Wisconsin or pay for shipping. All components are with it. Case, electronics the whole thing. I bought a new Onan and installed it. Took a while but its in and actually starts up...

Here is another one for you: Chassis 1FDJS34G6SHB68717. Airstream 1B9KGVA25SJ301014. I purchased it in Wisconsin in 2008. 3rd owner. I think it was originally purchased in Michigan. I bought it from a fellow here in Wisconsin. It has been an awful wonderful unit. Had 69000 on it when we bought it an...

Re: Seasond traveler
Ford has a problem with fuel pumps. They may show correct pressure at fuel rail but they will vapor lock. Yup I know its fuel injected with pump in the tank and its a pressurized system. But they will vapor lock. Replaced my fuel pump and problem was gone. Gotta empty the tank and drop it.

Re: Over cab mattress
I have issues with my back also. I use two twin Coleman air mattresses side by side. Put a blanket on the floor first so you don't get wood splinters poking into the air mattress. I get mine online and look for the thinnest ones. I think they are 6" thick. I cover the mattresses with a couple o...

Re: New Heater problem
Yes they do cycle before the thermostat is satisfied and and it shuts off completely. You will notice the air blowing out will cool down. Yes I would guess it is to prevent overheating. Furnace would have a high temp sensor that kicks in.

Re: New Heater problem
Here is a trouble shooting guide that I found several years ago. Found this guide on the internet as I am having problems with my furnace. http://www.rvforum.net/miscfiles/Furnace_Trouble-2.pdf. It looks pretty good rather simple. There is also a post here about cleaning which I have to do yet. Was ...

Re: Vehicle cab light bulb switch.
I disabled the lite switches for the side door and rear door. Figured i may leave those doors open and never the cab doors. Just unscrewed the nut from the switch and pushed the switch thru the hole.

weekender, i had the same problem in my 95. The only time it happened was in the winter in a warm climate. Texas in Feb about 85°. I only had to wait 20 minutes or so. I think that was partially due to winter blend of fuel because it did not happen to me in the summer in Wis. I finally replaced the ...

refrigerator
I am curious about the internal temperatures of RV refrigerators. I have been experimenting with different temperature settings. I would set it and wait 24 to 48 hours and see what the temperature differential was. This being the temp difference between outside the refrigerator and internall tempera...
