B190 GVWR and GCWR
The 1996 model year is listed with a GVWR of 9400 and a GCWR of 11500. With the upgraded engine, the GCWR goes to 15000. Did the upgrade affect the GVWR?

Re: Foam Cabinets
1 square foot of 1/2" hardwood ply weighs 1.4lbs. Assume 100square feet in the rig, that's 139lbs of plywood. 1 square foot of 1/2" XPS weight 35 grams. Assume 100 square feet in the rig, that's 12.1 lbs (I added some weight for the coating, I'll actually have to find out what that value e...

Re: Foam Cabinets
One other thing, https://totalcomposites.com/ that's essentially XPS sandwiched between fiberglass panels. And they build the entire structure of the overland rig out of just the composite panels (with aluminum corner braces). Video from Australia of a guy and his wife standing on the roof of one. N...

Re: Foam Cabinets
That stuff is really soft, I have a bunch for a model railroad layout, and it's really easy to dent it, scratch it, etc. My cats love to claw it. A can sliding across inside would dent it. And either the cabinets have to be small or you won't be able to put much weight in it; it'll flex and snap. T...

Re: Remodel of my 1996
Got some work done this weekend. First, during the week, I put 3 coats of Tung oil on the luan that will make up the decorative panels in the bed area. Given they are only 1/8” thick, I’m confident this will provide enough water resistance so that I won’t have to worry about rot while I own the rig....

Re: Buying it back...
BTW, if I were you, I would slather all that wood with poly. I did that for the supports around the ceiling fan, and they didn't adhere to each other very well (using Liquid Nails). I was hesitating about doing it with the rest of it for that reason. Your window frames will be held to the wa...

Re: Buying it back...
I also cut a bunch of strips of woods to glue to the walls to use as mounting points for the cabinets. The upper cabinets rest their weight on the "hip" (as I call it) but are screwed into the wall to keep them from falling over. The wood strips provide that support. I have glued supports...

Re: Buying it back...
One more question, kstills - how much of that wool did you buy? I haven't measured, but I think 2 boxes should do it for me, for what I'm doing. But they have a special if you order a 3rd box, so if I'll need 3 I want to order them together. But I don't want to order 3 unless I actually need the th...

Re: Buying it back...
I think I was reacting to the fact that the inner metal rings need to be pushing against something, or the window won't sit flat like it should. So I suppose I could do it when I'm at the stage you're at, for example. Then remove them again when the actual interior wall goes in. Ah. I just put thos...

Re: Window leaks and other information
Welp, this answers the question I asked you in the other thread. For me, it was easier to put blocks around the window to support the clamping ring, then make the frames out of a plywood lamination.
