Re: 1998 Airstream B190

Thanks for the info and picture. I think I'll just remove that hanger and maybe add a fan but I'll have to get 12V somehow since the 12V going to the fridge is connected to the ignition. The fridge has been on propane for about 18 hours and the inside temp is 38F, it's about 77F outside. I don't th...

Re: Rallies and Other Events?

Never been to one of these. Seems kind of expensive, what am I getting for $110?

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

Hey guys, Just got back from my trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto. Gas is expensive up there, 125 CAD and the tank still wasn't full. After installing the steering stabilizer, there was definitely less swaying. I also noticed that after dumping the tanks, the oscillating sway was pretty much gone. D...

Re: Oscillating Sway

Got the Roadmaster stabilizer installed yesterday and it seems to have fixed the problem. Going on a big trip this weekend so I will be able to test it more.

Re: Oscillating Sway

Correcting the tire pressure made a big difference for me, even with the old tires. I bought new wider tires that made it even better. Installing heavy duty shocks made a difference too. The steering still feels sloppy. I actually got 265/75/16 Hercules. Main reason was I couldn't get up my steep d...

Re: Oscillating Sway

Checked the tire pressure yesterday, the fronts were low, 46 psi. The backs were 77 psi or so. The good news is my Roadmaster will arrive today so I'll put that on.

Re: Oscillating Sway

Thanks for the info guys. I didn't get to the tire pressure yesterday but I'll check today. I was going to change the shocks but there is already Bilstein shocks on it. I should find a bump somewhere to see how many up and downs I get when I go over it, if I'm not mistaken it should only bounce once...

Is the steering loose?
I actually watched the guy pump the tires after the new tires were installed but I'll check again today. The steering is not loose at all, very tight.

I'm sure those would help. Just wanted to see if anyone has seen this type of swaying before, seems different than the usual truck passing by swaying and such.

Oscillating Sway

Hi, I just got my 1998 B-190 and replaced the tires, both ball joints on both sides and a tie rod end. When driving on the highway, the van would sway back and forth a couple of times every once in a while. I wouldn’t say it’s a huge sway but enough to make me worried, sometimes I really got to focu...

Re: New B190 owner here

Skater...yes I’ll draw a schematic when I’m on the wiring and share..I should of took alil more time and drew it out when I was gutting but I didn’t...but it seems to be fairly simple and straightforward... Tdashmike...it looks like ya solved the sagging issue...shims and screws! Seems the whole in...

Re: 1998 Airstream B190

The problem seems to be that the front of the bunk is screwed into the side shelves but I don’t think they can handle the weight. The back side is 2x4s attached to the frame so that is pretty solid. Maybe it was redone incorrectly? I put in wood shims between the shelf and what is left of the metal ...

Yeah, I'm going to remove the plywood on top and see what's going on.

Re: New B190 owner here

Wow, nice work dude. If you have a moment, can you give me some ideas on how to fix the bunk sagging on my 1998 B190 thread? I posted a picture on there so you can see what I'm talking about. From your pictures though, it looks like I need to pull the plywood up and re-screw the side supports back i...
