Skater,
Is it possible to show the entire photo instead of it being cut off and you have to scroll to see the entire picture? Thanks.

Re: Scroll To View Photos
Skater, what is the maximum size for the pictures? I personally think the pictures are too small, most forums I go to display pictures bigger so you can actually see the details. Another option would be to have thumbnails and if you click on them they show the full size.usachris wrote:You’ll have to resize your image before posting.Im sure Skater can help to suggest exact sizes.

Re: Scroll To View Photos
I’ll have to look into it. The way it sometimes works is that if you click on the picture it expands to full size, but that doesn’t seem to be consistent.
We had a problem years ago with some resize code causing blank pages for some users, so I may have something set weird.

Re: Scroll To View Photos
So, it looks like it's working as designed - it's supposed to show a smaller image, then clicking on it should give you the full size image. When a picture is uploaded as an attachment, it creates a thumbnail for it.
That thumbnail was set to 400 px wide. I just changed it to 800 px, so try it and see if it's better, and we can see if it breaks the layout. I assume the change will only affect new uploads.

Re: Scroll To View Photos
That is much better Skater. Can you also change the thumbnail height to 480 px? I think a 640x480 picture would be good enough and if you want more detail then you can click on the photo.skater wrote:So, it looks like it's working as designed - it's supposed to show a smaller image, then clicking on it should give you the full size image. Not easily. I assumed it would automatically scale the vertical, too, but apparently not. I'll keep digging on that one.tdashmike wrote:That is much better Skater. I also noticed that the max attachment size was 1 megabyte, which probably made sense back in 2005, but not so much now. I've upped it to 5 megs, which should allow for a decently detailed image.

Thanks for looking into it. I think it will make the pictures much easier to view. 1 MB is probably fine by the way, my pictures are less then 100 KB when I upload them. The raw photos from my iPhone 8 are around 2.9MB.skater wrote:Not easily. I assumed it would automatically scale the vertical, too, but apparently not. Re: Scroll To View Photos
Ah! Okay, the 800px setting I mentioned before was only for thumbnails, which the board practically never creates (only in certain situations, and I don't know exactly what those are). However, I found a setting the CSS that limited the height to 355 px. I just set it to 600 px. This should take effect immediately...I can't remember - is it showing more of the picture above now?

The picture I posted above was much bigger but the one's in the generator section all show now. It looks really good.
Re: Scroll To View Photos
Skater,
Can you make the height 615 px or 650 px? I uploaded standard 800x600 px pictures but the scroll bar is still there, it's just off by a little bit. See my AC cap topic. Thanks!

Done. I changed it to 650 px. You may need to do a shift+reload for it to take effect, but the pictures are displaying in full for me now.tdashmike wrote:Skater,

Re: Scroll To View Photos
Well, I may have broken it again.
The issue is that if someone uploads a really large file, it destroys the layout (and you can't see the image anyway). I've set the max-width to 750 pixels, so anything wider than that will be resized down.

OK, I will adjust my picture sizes accordingly. It appears the thumbnail function isn't working for some reason, it's showing the original image scale inside the box and not a resize of the original image.skater wrote:Well, I may have broken it again.
