New Fuel Pump Replacement part Number?

Post by MalcolmS »

I need to replace my fuel pump on the Onan generator.
I have the fuel pump off and written on it is"Replace with low pressure pump only. Onan NO. 149-2332
I cannot find this fuel pump/part anywhere so I'm wondering if anyone knows of the correct furl pump replacement for this part?

I'm considering installing a remote fuel pump under the generator and chassis instead of putting back where it was. This way, I wont have to remove my entire generator next time the fuel pump needs servicing. Thoughts?

Relocating: Your generator's fuel pump shouldn't need servicing that often. You'd have to find a pump that puts out the correct pressure and wire it up...presumably it could be done but it seems like a lot of work and headache for something that should only need to be done very rarely.

Is it the original generator? Onan has probably updated the design of the generator or fuel pump.

This is a generic replacement for that part:

This is the original replacement part from Cummins Onan:

Thanks for the advice and suggestions.

Skater,
Yes It is the original generator. After I removed the fuel pump I hammered on the side of it because this can often un-freeze it and gets them pumping again. It worked but I'm still replacing the pump with a new one.

usachris,
I did a lot of digging and several different sellers suggest replacements for my part number but they are not consistent. I believe the actual replacement for mine is not the E11009, but rather the E11011.
The E11009 is oriented in the opposite direction than mine. The E11011 is exactly like my original.

I guess I'll find out for sure when I get the part on Tuesday and put it back together.
